Capture Full Page Screenshot of Data Extension Setup in Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Many times during troubleshooting and working remotely have I needed to share the setup of data extension within Salesforce Marketing Cloud with colleagues or clients. And you know what they say; a picture is worth a thousand words. Having said that, its actually quite difficult to get a screenshot of your Data Extension setup and have all the fields included in the picture. So what are you to do?

If you’ve ever been in a similar situation I have the perfect solution….

Step 0: Open SFMC inside Google Chrome browser.

Step 1: Load your Data Extension on the properties on screen.

Step 2: Right click >Inspect Element or Command + Option + C (for Mac).

Step 3: Find the first occurring iFrame in the html body and click to highlight it. In the computed styles sidebar, edit the height to a big enough number in pixels for the DE columns to show. In the screenshot below I’ve set to 2300px.

Change the height of the iFrame

Step 4: Click Toggle Device Toolbar to open the UI that enables you to simulate a mobile viewport (top left corner of the dev tools window).

Toggle Device Toolbar icon

Step 5: Click the 3 three vertical dots in the top-right corner > Capture full size screenshot.

Bonus Step: Edit and crop the downloaded screenshot as per your own needs.

You can also access the required workspace in Chrome via the Main Menu (three vertical dots) in the far top-right corner of your browser > More tools > Developer tools (Option + Command + i)

Chrome Developer Tools

Happy screenshotting!
